Tank and water
Use a cycled freshwater aquarium with dechlorinated water and stable temperature. They adapt to a broad range, but sudden changes are more harmful than slightly imperfect numbers. Calcium and minerals support shell condition.
What bladder snails eat
- Biofilm and soft algae
- Decaying plant material
- Small amounts of leftover fish or shrimp food
- Blanched vegetables occasionally
Do not overfeed specifically for the snails. Their population naturally responds to available food.
Tank mates
They live peacefully with Neocaridina shrimp and calm community fish. Avoid pufferfish, many loaches, crayfish and other animals that deliberately hunt snails.
Routine care
Carry out small regular water changes, avoid copper-based treatments and maintain steady conditions. Inspect shells for erosion and review hardness if damage continues.
Bladder snails help process leftovers, but no animal replaces water changes, gravel cleaning or responsible feeding.
